Teacher qualified staff are supported by staff with childcare qualifications to offer a friendly and caring place for learning through play.

Places are offered on a full or part-time basis, during the core day (9.30 am to 3.30 pm) term time only or for 49 weeks a year on an extended day basis (8am to 5.30pm) to suit working or studying parents. Parents are encouraged to become involved in the life of the Centre.Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND
North Islington Nursery School and Children’s Centre has a qualified teacher as the SENCO who has been working in the school for over 10 years.
We have staff who have been trained to support children using PECS, a range of medical needs including gastrostomy fed children and epilepsy.
Staff have experience of working with children with a range of needs. These have included children with Autism; visual and hearing impaired; those requiring additional language and communication support and other conditions such as CHARGE syndrome.  
We run small, short and snappy language intervention groups for those children who have been identified as needing additional support with all areas of communication. We have a member of staff who has experience of leading and running an Attention Builders group.
We have a Clinical Psychologist linked to our school, a play therapist who works weekly with children who we have identified and we have good links with our family support workers.
