Rainbow Nursery is a well-established childcare center located in Hackney. Since 1973, we have been serving the community by providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for children. Our goal is to ensure that every child feels respected …Rainbow Nursery is proactive in establishing and sustaining a safe, welcoming, purposeful, stimulating and encouraging environment where children feel confident and secure and are able to develop and learn.
We welcome children with special educational needs and disabilities as part of our community. We recognise the importance of early identification and assessment of children with special educational needs and disabilities. This is particularly important in the area of early years education. We will develop practices and procedures, which will aim to ensure that all children’s special educational needs and disabilities are identified and assessed and the curriculum will be planned to meet their needs.
The nursery is committed to ensuring that inclusion of all children with special educational needs and disabilities are supported. The nursery promotes the philosophy that all children have the right to be educated and develop to their fullest potential.
At the setting with have a designated Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who works closely with relevant Area SENCO employed by the local authority and receives regular training.
We recognise the vital role of parents/carers in the identification, assessment and response to their children’s special educational needs. We will work in true partnership with parents/carers, valuing their views and contributions and keeping them fully involved in their child’s education.
We believe in the involvement of the child and the importance of taking their views into account. We will make every effort to involve the child in decision-making about their special educational provision.
We are committed to effective collaboration between all agencies working with a child and a multi-disciplinarily approach to meeting children’s special educational needs. We will actively support the establishment and maintenance of close links with all agencies working with the child.
